I just realized my auto-window down has stopped working. What do I start checking for that?

So your window is up and won't go down? It could be your window motor. Its pretty common for them to go out. Mine stopped working a while back, got a new motor from advanced auto part and put the new one in, thing works better then ever! i used the shoebox method. http://shbox.com/page/windowmotor.html only took me a couple hours(should have taken me 30 minutes!:(). But i would check electrical first, could just be something small.

No, the AUTO down will not work. It rolls up and down, but not automatically
And where is this "express down module" ?

chances are your drivers side window motor is going out. my car's drivers side window would randomly stop if you pressed the auto down button. about 6 months later i was at a car show and had the window down and when i got home i went to roll the window up and the motor was stone cold dead. I remember asking the same question you did and wondered if it was a module or something and i got the "your window motor is going out" and didnt think that was the cause but sure enough a few months later it went out (it was over 6 months later but the car was in storage for a few months during that time) my window motor wasn't too hard to change but it had been done before so all the drill holes in the door skin were already there and the pop rivots were replaced by screws so i just loosened the screws that were there to the point that the motor came out and put in the new motor and just reused the same screws so i didn't have to deal with getting them back into the door skin since they seemed to be pretty tight in there
