So was resently looking up why my car maybe hard starting and last year i replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filter. no when i go to crank it over its hard to start. So i was wondering with the vas know how on here does it sound like my regulator or something else. And if you think it is what do you think i should go with a OEM one or some other kind of regulator i would love to hear your guys opinions thank you.

A bad FPR can cause hard starting does it cut out or feel like it's missing when you "get on it"? An easy way to check if you don't have a pressure gauge is to just pull the vacuum line off and see if it smells like fuel. If it does or if fuel comes out it's bad. I'd recommend just replacing with a stock one, the PCM is set to pulse the injectors with a predetermined amount of psi. It's somewhat of an ongoing debate as to wether adjusting psi has any positive effects on our cars. Some say it helps add fuel and others say the PCM will notice the added fuel from the O2's and adjust the injector pulse to compensate, IDK. Unless you running FI I doubt you'll notice any improvement over stock for the extra $. Even with FI a fuel system would be more appropriate than an adjustable regulator. I had and adjustable one on my car and noticed nothing, when I took it to Ed Wright to be tuned he requested I put a stock one back on it. Hope this helps ;)

P.S. it would also be worth checking your engine vacuum, a leak can also cause hard starting.
