ACs single digit build thread!!!

So I figured Id put up my single digit goal build for this winter. Engine will be a 383 LT1 stock block, half fill, splayed mains, SRP forged pistons,Eagle H-beams, eagle forged crank(already at the machine shop) 12.9:1 compression with stock ported heads/ intake HR cam. Ill be using my Lloyd Elliott ported current heads/intake and a new LE custom cam for the 383. Short block built by Speedinc and tuned by Speedinc!!! FTW!!!!!
Trans fully built RMVB TH350 with JW bell with a NC 4000+ stall and B&M stealth pro ratchet shifter.
Car sits at 3500 with me in it now but ill be taking out some more weight.
Chassis is fully done until I need a cage or till the tracks kick me out. UMI K-member, upper and lower a-arms, Strange DA front shocks with 300# springs, BMR sub frame connectors, Wolfe 6point bar, UMI TA, UMI LCAs, UMI PHB, UMI LCA relocation brackets, UMI trans cross member, UMI drag bar, Madman AFCO rear Shocks, Stock rear springs with heater hose mod, Dana S60 rear end 35 spline axles and 4.10s.
Wheels are Dragstars with MT sportman fronts and 275-60-15 MT ET drag radials out back
Nitrous kit is a Nitrous Outlet LT1 specific plate kit, Stand alone fuel system, progressive contoller, NANO, MSD dig 6. With all the goodies.
Car will look exactly the same but have the TH350 and a 383 bottom end.

what size shot do u plan on running? sad to see you ditch the t56 but building a t56 to hold that much powa is a expensive compared to going th350/400. subscribing for more updates :whistle:

Yeah its big money and still less reliable and consistant. I figure a 200-250 shot should do it safely on a stock intake. Ill be investing in a direct port system sooner or later then Ill up it again.

Ya the bar will def need upgrading but since I dont class race so i prob wont get to much shit until it starts going deep 9s. Thats also why I went with a bolt in bar, when it need to I can sell it and put the money towards a cage.

Also Just got off the phone with my builder, should only be a few more weeks till I get the short block back. Said he wants to start with a fresh block so hes going to just hook me up with an exchange for mine N/C. Says the shop that did the orig 383 cut some corners and he wants mine perfect. Looking good Mike, there is no reason it shouldn't run the number with the route your going. I would talk to Lloyd though and have him do some more port work on your heads and intake to seal the deal.

I did and he said it wouldnt be worth it on the stock intake and I would only gain about 15rwhp with the Vic. For the money I could just spray a little more and have the same results. So he basically told me not to waste my money. If I were staying NA then those couple extra ponies would be worth it, not so much on the gun.

I would have thought a stage 3 + port job plus the extra port work on the vic would be worth a little more than that ? Is it because your only going to spin the motor to 6800 - 7000 rpm.

The cam should peak about 6800 so Im not gonna get much more out of the stock PCM with a HR cam. Cam is almost identical to Larry's.

Little bit of progress!! Intake is done being ported By Lloyd Elliott and is now at Nitrous Outlet for the spray bars. Heres some b4 and after pics of Lloyds work. He did a hell of a job and should work kick ass!!!!!!!!

Talked to Dave at Nitrous Outlet today to spec out the system and I had 2 choices on the custom spray bars. I could have done 50-300 in 50hp increments or 100-500 in 100hp increments.
I decided to go 50-300 to be safe for now but can always change them out later if Im feeling crazy. My noids are good to 500, but I figured 100hp hit will change the car too much while Im getting it sorted out. Also my Nano will only support a 250shot without stepping it up to the 4500psi kit.
On a 300shot the car will make around 750rwhp and that should be good enough for a while.

I WANT to make it to the LTx Shootout WITH my car, but that is a long ways away... :( When it was in KC I could have made it but my car wasnt running......now that it has been moved to BG, I dont think I can go. It's over 1000 miles one way for me now and I dont have a trainer,OR a truck to haul it, and I am NOT driving it all the way there and back. And if I go without my car, I will severely regret it while I am watching everyone else race and I cant lmao

At sea level I should be a mid to low 11 Second car N/A and a mid to low 10 Second car when I spray.

I would love to see your run though, along with Tony and the others, but probably isnt gonna happen... :cry:

Those look like the Jegs brand cast ones I just bought, I got the smooth ones though. $50 shipped is a steal they're around $100 new w/o breathers. Nice job on the build Mike, lookin forward to see it running in BG.
