Funny commercials, but a terrible place. I absolutely hate planet fitness. They actually have a "lunk alarm" for people who make any noise or drop weights. I trained there once and will never go back. I don't even make noise when I work out but I was very uncomfortable there. It's almost like if you look like your in good shape, they are just sitting there watching you, waiting for you to mess up. "Judgement free zone" my ass.

EDIT: Forgot to mention their dumbbells only go up to 85 lbs, so they make it difficult for anyone to use heavyweights there anyways, regardless of their "training methods"

I work out at planet fitness, the lack of weight does create a problem, however if your creative with the equipment, you can make it work.....

Can you grunt while going #2? I know I do every once in a while...

I wouldn't be suprised if they try to give you the boot for being too creative with the weight and drawing attention to yourself, especially a big guy like yourself.

lol, Im not a public pooper, so I wouldnt know how that would go over.... worst case scenario is while your on the can, you hear the LUNK ALARM go off in the main gym.... Unless your going number two in the work out area..... lol

Honestly my gym isn't really my style either. I go to Universal which is like the main club in my area, and if I was actually paying to go there, I wouldn't be going, it's expensive as hell. I miss my old highschool gym, it was so much more hardcore and made you actually want to be there. But that got torn down with the rest of the school and rebuilt.

I agree!! I went there with my brother a few times. The "lunk alarm" was annoying as hell. The trainers there are fucking idiots too.

My brother is a certified personal trainer and knows a TON about lifting, eating right, and fitness. The trainer comes up to him and says "You're not allowed to do clings here".. And my brother said "Why not".. And the guy said "because theyre not good for you and its a rule"... So my brother replied "well... If you're going to tell me theyre not good for you, at least give me an explanation!" (because theres no legit one). And he walked away.

The commercials are great, but I agree with 95z28man.

you guys prob should have complained to someone important... the trainers at PF are subcontracted and not true employees. At least thats how it is here....

What are clings? Same things as a powerclean? If so, I've never heard them called that lol. But I don't do those anyways, it's more of a sport in itself IMO, takes very good technique and time to learn so you don't injure yourself. I'm more into getting bigger, stronger, faster and trying to get back into bodybuilding again... all of which is frowned upon at Planet Fitness, except popo seems to have found a cooler one than what I have.

Something else I thought of... they claim to be judgment free in their advertising, but yet they pull stereotype's from bodybuilders and make them look stupid in the commercials... even though it's funny, they're completely contradicting what they supposedly stand for.
