My car came with a wet shot nx kit with a 100 shot. It has a bottle heater and a switch next to the bottle, which i guess turns on the heater, and a switch in the console. I know just about nothing about n2o and was wondering how i use it. I have no button to push just a switch. So does this mean all i have to do is turn on the switch and push the peddle all the way down. Ive heard of some systems using the tps to engage and i think this may be what mine does but im not sure.

Most kits are push botton, WOT Switch or TPS actiavted.

But if you dont have a window switch your probly not TPS, id bet its a WOT switch under the pedal or behind the throttle body lever.

You should see what you have all together before you go spraying, Id hate to see you break something because your kit was half assed.

yeah, im not spraying the car until i get all of the right stuff together. How would i tell if its got a window switch? Would it have to have an aftermarket ignition box? Im gonna check for a wot switch and go from there.

A window swithc usualy is a small box with options, either digital or analog. If i was you I would pull that whole kit off and rewire it all so you know whats what and where it goes.

Im definitly going to have to do some rewiring. All the wiring from the stereo subs and tangled with the n2o wires coming from the back of the car. Im taking the subs out though so that going to make it easier to sort through some things.
Im thinking he may have had a remote bottle opener run to it because there is some extra wires hangin around the bottle and a extra switch in the dash that does nothing.

Is the switch a monentary rocker?

If you need any help dont hesitate to ask! I have done a total of 3 kits now, 2 that are dual stage with tons of electronics. So hopefully I can set ya straight and im sure the other members of the board while chime in with their experience.

Do you mean a toggle switch? Then yes. It has an on and off position. There is also a switch next to the bottle with a relay near it with a wad of wire i need to go through. Im gonna take some pics of everything sometime soon and see if anything looks familiar to anyone, if not im going to take it out and start over. All of the wiring under the hood looks clean coming off the solinoids and the steel line is run under the car to be hidden. The main thing im having trouble with is all these switches and tangled up wires in the cockpit.

Pictures would be helpful, then we could help identify whats actually there...

If I were you, I'd re-wire the whole entire system with a window switch and FPSS if you don't have them already. I'd also pull the plugs and check them. I'd run TR6s in it if they aren't in it (or messed up). Do that much at least.

I can help you if you figure out what all you have. I just put an NX wet kit on my car. Ran it with an MSD window switch, FPSS, and also have the purge there with it. Its setup to run off a WOT switch. If my setup is similiar to yours, I could probably be alot of assistance. Its actually pretty easy, just time-consuming.

I agree with going through all the wiring and figure out what you have.

also look into an ignition box to retard timing : MSD or Mallory

What is an fpss?

I looked at the throttle body during my lunch break just now and its got a wot switch hooked up to it, so at least now i know how the last guy was using it.

Where the spray goes into the elbow. And what is that blue little plug next to the n20 hose??

I guess thats all there is to the system. When i put in a fpss and window switch, am i gonna be able to use most of the wires or am i going to have to rewire everything? Im only going to be spraying a 100 shot, maybe 150 if i get brave, so will i need a box to retard timing?

Personally, I'd re-wire the whole thing, just so you know what's what and where it is.

You should be fine without tuning for a 100 shot. 150- some people claim it to be safe, others disagree. Wouldn't hurt to retard the timing a little for that. You really need to be checking plugs often and monitering your A/F to make sure that is all in check.

Like I said, I'd also check the plugs to make sure they are correct for your application. I'd reccommend the TR6s.

Its got the tr6 plugs and has already been tuned by some guy from gmmg. I contacted the prior owner and asked him some questions. Its also got a nitrous pressure gauge and an airfuel ratio gauge with the dancing light.

I think im going to rewire everything in the back of the car, cause i dont know what the hell that green thing with the batteries is, and im going to get a window switch and fpss. Then i will see how itll do with a 100 shot and may step up to a 150 later. Im trying to learn as much as i can about n2o so i dont blow this motor up, and i can use it safely.

The main thing im concerned with though is a nitrous backfire. I saw some picture from one on ls1tech, and its not pretty. How can i avoid that at all costs?

The blue hose next to the nitrous hoses is the Opti Vent tube.

Man I would not let that leave my shop!

As mentioned a complete re-wire is in order and I would definately move those solenoids from on top of the exhaust!

Original question "Nitrous Oxide; how do I use it?". Answer: Flip the switch, and hang on!

yeah i didnt notice the solenoids being that close to the exhaust. Couldve been bad:doh:. But im gonna rewire everything because i looked more into it and there are a lot of wires running to nothing.

Thanks for everyones help and i really appreciate it.
