I'm moving down to Houston in Feb. 2011.
I'm pretty excited and cant wait. Just wondering what will be the best and cheapest way to move all my shit down there from NY. I was thinking about renting a U-Haul, putting all my stuff in there, and then towing my SS behind it. Its a 1500mile trip and it will prob go through gas like theres no tomorrow, but thats what I'm thinking is going to be my best option so far.
Any ideas or suggestions? Owning a Fbody isnt always the most convenient thing.
EDIT: NVM!!! They want to charge $1500!!!!

1500 isnt actually so bad, when I moved from Texas to New Mexico they charged me I think 850, luckily my employer paid for it.
Ill have to post some pictures of my convoy, haha, it was my Brothers truck towing my Jeep, and the Uhaul van towing the Trans Am
Good luck man

Check with Penske. They'll be cheaper than Uhaul, and you CAN get an F-Body on their trailers. I used Penske when I moved from CA to NJ. Cost me $1300. Granted that was 10 years ago, but still.

Better yet, try Ryder. They beat out even Penske by a bit and offered a HUGE truck for me to put all my stuff in when moving around the last couple years for the Air Force.
On a different note, how far away from the "Texas Mile" will you be? I have always wanted to do that in my Z someday, but have a hard time putting a cage in my street car.

I will be about an hour away. That was one of the first things I looked up. HAHA!
