My retained accessory power module is going bad. I'm guessing it's the relay inside getting stuck. Problem is, it's part of the BCM, which needs to come from a dealer to be replaced and then programmed to match the chip in the keys. So, it's like $400+ to fix.

So after studying wiring diagrams for both windows and radio in the F-body service manuals, I've narrowed the problem down to the RAP module. My radio sometimes cuts out while driving. At the same time, I lose power to my windows. This is very random, and sometimes I can go days without it happening. Also, there are times when I shut the car down, my power to radio and windows is cut immediately when I turn off the ignition. So, the RAP is not letting power to them for the allotted 10 minutes.

I don't have the cash to replace the BCM right now, and I could care less about having the 10 minutes of retained power. On page 8A-15-0 in book 2 of the service manuals is the RAP module diagram and 8A-51-1 is the bcm. There is a dark blue wire in cavity C of the C2 harness on the BCM that feeds power to the fuse panel for the window circuit breaker and for the radio. I'm tempted to wire this directly to an ignition source and say screw the 10 minutes of retained power.

Does anyone here have any suggestions or comments? It sucks when your radio cuts in and out every few minutes on long trips, and when you park, your windows wont go up when you want them to.
