hey guys, just traded for this truck a month ago and have been racking up a list of things the previous owner was too lazy to do when he swapped the lt1 in.
First and main thing causing me greif, headers. It has round tubes on it that dont meet up wioth the d port heads... Ive searched google, jegs, summit. Where do I find headers for this thing?
...Now some info my question can be answered lol. Truck is a 77 with an 85 front end, lt1, th350, and 4:10 gears. Developed a knock already so this winter I might be tearing it apart and re ringing it and putting in new bearings and seals to freshen it up. possibly a cam since thats not too expensive.
Oh, and its covered in rhinoline...

Ok.....that truck is pure badness. I absolutely love it. Get a grille on it and get it finished off and PLEASE post some pics!!!!!!
I wouldn't worry so much about the round tube headers mating with the D-Port heads. Have you had them off the car yet? They might have the D-Port on the flange as most headers already do. If it's truly a round port flange, as long as it's larger than the d-port, I wouldn't sweat it.

Thanks for the comments guys, glad Im not the only one that digs it. As for the grille since it has an 85 front end and I HATE billet phantom grilles Ive priced out a 91 suburban grille with the four headlights... so eventually Ill have that. Got a tailgate getting sprayed too.
Fastbird: I had the headers off after I spent 30 bucks on the "seal4good" header gaskets that didnt seal. And per the marks on the gasket the round ports dont even line up to the d ports, like they sit lower... and yes the headers do have round tube flanges. I found some but theyre shorties, S&P? It also needs a better exhaust system built as the last one has shitty 4 piece hangers...
Anywho Ill put up some more pics as soon as I can find some batterys for me camera.

Thats what I was just thinking, because Ive got WAYY more room than a camaro would. But, Id have to get a new exhaust built because Ive got long tubes right now, and money is sparse.
Might do it though and get a short system built that goes to the back of the cab or something.

got that delete bracket... heres what it had before, instead of tracking one down or making something he just kept what was there, and routed the lines to a paint can to keep fluid running through the pump...
