The 17x9 +42 MAY have worked, but neither of the wheels are available in the correct bolt pattern. The ones offered are 5x100 and 5x114.3 whereas F-body's are 5x4.75" or 5x120.65.

Read up on backspacing a little, it's easy to comprehend with some of the "visual" calculators. For example, my Camaro SS wheels are 17x9" +56; the +56 means that the mating surface of the wheel is 56mm to the face (outside of car) of the wheel from the CENTERLINE of the wheel. A -56 would be 56mm inward toward the suspension.

So say that 5x114 that the wheels you linked to were in our bolt pattern. Given that it is 17x9" +42, it would stick out 14mm farther than OEM Camaro SS ten spoke wheels [ (+56mm) - (+42mm) ] = 14mm outward. You see?

ninja edit: I just noticed it is offered in 5x120, which isn't exactly our bolt pattern but people have gotten away with it. 5x120 is common BMW and other European cars. That being said, 5x120 +25 would sit pretty flush with the fender of F-bodys. My SS wheels are (very, very roughly) 1" from sitting flush to the fender. 1" = 25.4mm, and the wheels you posted would sit out 31mm farther than SS ten spokes. Good luck! I would get them if I was looking at them, then find some 275/40-17 tires to mount! I love my Vredestein 275's FWIW

You dont own a import, find a different set of wheels

A little harsh wouldn't you say? He's trying to learn an important topic of wheel fitment and you're telling him to look elsewhere. How did you find out what size and offset to get for your Camaro?

I bought a set off a different car. I had 17x11's though 315 Drs for my type of driving would have gotten a bit expensive to keep replacing so I sold them and bought a set of 18x8's with better highway manners since I normally put about 20k on a car a year.

But yes I researched alot about wheel fitment and I am also a automotive engineering student. , I didnt mean to come off harsh they could look good but that kinda style just screams import to me stuff you see on 240's and what not.

And my wheels were a 5x120 there should be no problem running them
