What exactly does it do? Can it be removed?
As is, my motor has the solenoid mounted to the side of the intake, and the wire harness goes to it.... but the vacuum lines aren't hooked to anything.
Can i take it off, and removed it from the computer/tune... or is it needed for something. The truck currently has no emissions stuff on it.... and I BELIEVE that is all the evap system is for... correct?

Gonna be pruning the harness of useless things, and wondering if that is something I can get rid of.

If you are not worried about emmissions, and shut it off in your tune, you dont need it.

It stops fuel vapors from escaping into the atmosphere and monitors for vapor leaks in the system. It should not effect the way it runs at all.

Thanks for the confirmation, I wasn't sure.

Just did some reading in my Painless Performance instructions (had forgotten I had them)

"To keep the check engine light from coming on you will need to plug in a canister purge solenoid and air pump relay to the wires in the dash section. (The computer looks for signals from these controls and does not care if the actual devices are installed.)"

I guess that's why mine in wired, but not hooked to anything. I wonder if I have an air pump relay... guess I need to find out where that would be.
