All-

During my build, I was getting crunched for time and couldn't fit my procharger in the engine bay because of the TCS. I removed it, and did some brake line work to T the one line coming out of the ABS block to the 2 hard lines running toward the rear (4 channel rear).
So, I now have no TCS. But, I should still have ABS. However, My ABS inop light is on. It wasn't on when I first finished the build.
Speed Inc did some work on the car before it got tuned, and bleeding the brakes was one of them. Is it possible that the ABS light is on because the ABS block might need bled also?
If my ABS won't function because I removed the TCS unit, I will understand and probably do an SJM abs delete/line lock kit. However, I'd prefer to retain ABS.
Suggestions?

That's exactly why. If your TCS light is on because you removed it, then ABS will be disabled as well.

Crap. How do guys get rid of TCS and keep ABS? I've seen it before....just don't remember where.

I only removed the servo over the valve cover, not the metering block below the ABS.

I've made a few posts on how to do it.

Yeah, I had to remove that metering block to fit the procharger in the engine bay.
So what are my options?

Well, when I removed the servo, to keep the light from coming on, I used a resistor in the harness to trick the EBTCM into thinking it was still there (exactly like a CAGS delete). I know there's a big connector on that metering block. So if you could do the same thing with it, you might be able to keep ABS. Just a thought.

I'm not sure if the ABS will freak out when it tries to meter the rear brakes and can't though.

hmm....interesting thought.

i swapped to a non tcs cable and deleted the tcs servo. my abs works fine and no ABS light. if you removed the accumulator/pump, you wont have abs period and will have a light. if you dont want the light, pull it as its moot anyway.

Yeah, I had to pull the pump/accumulator.
I've finally made the decision to get an SJM ABS Delete/Line Lock. I wanted to retain ABS (and spent a bunch of money converting my 3-channel 12 bolt to a 4-channel), but now it's both :)

Not to hijack your thread, but what did you have to do to convert from a 3 channel set up to a 4 channel? I have a ford 9 under my car with 4 channel sensors and my ABS is a 3 channel. I ordered an EBCM for a 4 channel car and was going to try running a line back and wiring the sensors in...is that not going to work? Or is the answer just deleting it and not wasting the time with it?

Converting from a 4 channel to a 3 channel will be hell. The 4 channel has rings on the axles that activate 2 separate sensors on the backing plates.
A 3 channel has a ring welded to the ring gear inside the rear end; the sensor on the top of the housing is for this large ring.
My car was already a 4 channel, then I bought a rear end that was a 3 channel. I just had to send the axles in to Moser, have them machined, and have the ABS rings installed. Then I stole the backing plates from my stock 4 channel 10 bolt and swapped. No biggie.

Quick recap: 3-->4 channel = not bad. 4-->3 channel = not worth it.

Yeah, I would think that converting from a 4 channel to a 3 channel seems next to impossible or extremely expensive. So what you did was take a rear end that was a 3 channel and converted it to a 4 channel. That sounds more practical than what I wanted to accomplish. I have a four channel rear end and wanted to see about converting a 3 channel car to a 4 channel car. Unless there is a miracle 3 channel set up for a Ford 9 rear end. I bought the car with this rear end and 4 channel sensors on it, but I have ABS lights/frequency error codes because the car is a 3 channel ABS. Any idea if that would work or should I just bail on it, ABS delete it, and pull the bulb? Thanks for your thoughts

I'd just delete it at this point.
