just wondering before I start smacking my mint car!
Will 1/2" spacers put me away from rubbing with a 325/50 on a 15x10 with 7.5 backspacing?

Is it just the lower front of the rear wheel wells that need it? I have 315/35/17 nittos and they dont rub at all and seems there is still some more space. Plenty of room every where but that front lower lip.

Well first off, you have 17's. 18's would be more prone to rubbing. 2nd, not all tires are the same width per given sizes (meaning a 315 Nitto is not the same width as a 315 BFG).

Nittos are more narrow than most other tires given the same size parameters. Some might not rub with nittos but then rub with MT DR's. The circled areas in the above pic are the areas that will rub first. Keep in mind that even though they might look like they have room and don't rub while sitting there, under acceleration in your car is when if they are going to rub, they will. I reccomend taking the car out after you think you are good, and driving it, and checking the inside of the tires. If good, take it out and open it up a bit. Then check again. If your tires are indeed contacting the inner wheel well, its not going to take much to eat into the tires and make them un-safe.

I have heard nittos are skinnier than MT or BFGs but wasnt sure if thats true or not since I never measured them. That would make sense though.
I was worried about it rubbing but couldnt hear/feel anything while testing it out and after the track took them off and checked all over for any signs of rubbing and found nothing.
Thanks for the pics I now know where I have to BFH next season.

I see you have a 95 Z28 - what are you running out back?
I think now I'm going 17x9.5" with 7" backspace and 325/45/17 drag radials
about the same specs as a 325/50/15 but larger wheel diameter.
Might fit better with the shorter sidewall in a Camaro quarter panel.

I have 18X10's in the back, with 305/35ZR18's. But keep in mind they are Nitto's.

I think your combo will work alright, but you are probably going to need to pound in the inner wheel wells as posted above. You may want to get an adjustable panhard bar. I know somepeople with those just tighten them up, and that pulls in the wheel wells enough to make more room.

nittos run narrow. My 315/35/17 sumimoto's are about a inch wider than my nitto nt555r's were and they don't rub. I'm stock ss springs (-3/4") in the rear with an adj panhard bar and whatnot.
