not exactly what i thought she was gonna run, but it gives me something to build/tweek on. gonna go back for round two on OCT 1st. was only able to slip in three runs all on motor. when i was feeling like she was ready for a 150 shot they closed the staging lanes and called it a night, lol! just my luck!

i really think the converter is to tight for just the engine???? its an ati fuel/blown 3600. we'll see come oct 1st when it's gonna be an all nitrous night. she was only pulling 5800-5900 rpm's through the traps. on the third run i decided to stay in it past the traps to see if it would still pull. and it did i finally let out at 6400 ( made for a fun shutdown and hard right turn to exit the track, lol! ) i shift at 6800 and need to see close to that at the traps. so hopefully on the nitrous i'll see that??? if not ati is gonna get a call the following monday!

You can drop half a second with a better converter in there. That 60 foot time is what a mid/low 12 second car would run. Loosen that thing up and let it rip!

i agree on a looser converter, gonna make some passes on the nitrous coming up oct 1st. hopefully the converter does its job then. if not then belive me you she'll be coming out for a restall forsure.

So you ran an 11.8 N/A with a chance to get a better converter?
Nice, what are your mods if you dont mind me asking.

so i called ATI first thing yesterday morning. got a tech guy on the phone who i must say was a no b/s type of guy nodoubt. when i explained what happened, he straight up said hell no that converter isn't gonna work for motor passes. when you ordered it you stated you were gonna use atleast a 150hp shot of nitrous with more possible. so the converter is way to tight for just motor passes. lol, talk about getting right to the point. which was way cool in my opinion. i surly didn't want any stories about try this or try that.
so he told me to go back on the 1st and run a few passes on a 150hp and 200hp shot and call him back on the next monday. i thought that was pretty damn cool of him. he told me to decide if i like the way it ran on the nitrous and want to keep it the way it is or if i want to send it back and get a couple hundred bucks off an all motor converter. pretty damn fair if ya ask me, considering i am the one that made the choice of converter to start with.
what he recommended for an all motor converter is an 8" 4200 stall, and that i would need to change my gears to 4.30's. and with that combo i would see 11.20's and be much faster on the street too. so decisions, decisons????
what i was thinking, and this is just an idea??? was to keep the ati 9" 3600 for track days that i want to use the nitrous and buy an 8" 4200 for the street and if i want to just run the motor at the track?? it's pretty damn quick to swap out converters on the lift.

congrats and it's not bad for the 1st time out and a very tight converter
I think you will find it's still too tight. I would say 1.5's NA and low 1.4's N20 would be what you should be looking at.
good luck on the 1st

4200 is still too small for the motor you have. Let that car sing! 5k stall FTW!

it will be much quicker to change the converter than install the roll bar the night before, lmao! thanks a million for the help to!

thanks! i have my fingers crossed that it performs on the nitrous. 1.4 60's and running through the traps around 6600 or so would be very nice :D

i called art carr today and they were talking around 5k , so we shall see :secret:
