---UPDATE---
Is there anyway when the Cars Computer is not registering any Codes to test for Opti Failure since I am not getting any spark?
----

Ok so I have been swapping the LT4 I got from my 96 Camaro into my new 94 Firebird Formula. There motor is in, my changes and tune items have been done. I checked the Opti, rotor and cap and resealed them. (I kept my 96's Opti so it was vented)
It cranks but does not start.... YAYAYA

So I am trying to figure out just what I am missing... I went from OBDII to OBDI. I did not replace the Knock Sensor. I have the LT4KM and bolt on mods, etc.
I removed EGR and AIR as well as the Rear O2's and I am running open header currently.

I kept my Ignition Module and Coil (Still have access to the one out of the 94) and everything seems to have plugged in but its not starting. I checked the Plug wires for the side I can see with the rear end jacked up as it is currently (Doing exhaust work and swapping over my Suspension items) 1,3,5,7 are all right.

I can smell fuel and found no blown fuses... so what would be anyone else's first thoughts. I am still thinking somehow its not getting spark.

I need to look into how to pull codes on an OBDI GM and what the codes are as I might find some information there but what does anyone else think.

No its dark I was hungry and just decided to play with it more tomorrow. I have an OBDI Knock Sensor and ICM + Coil to try as well... I seem to remember reading that the coils were different too... confirmed the Knock Sensor def is.

Might as well see what happens tomorrow though, I will update on what happens.

the guy who helped me with my headgasket, broken the little dowel pin on the opti and somehow stuffed it in the wrong way, making the timing off. make sure nothing stupid like that happens lol. my car would crank with no start.

Ok I replaced the ICM, Coil and Knock Sensor with known working parts from the 94's original motor. I pulled everything off to get to the opti wire its in place. I am getting no spark at the coil I have not checked any further....

No Spark what do you guys think I have been checking everything and minus EGR/AIR its all connected. I have an SES but since its a 94 no way to check the codes.

Any help would be great.

Wait a thought, since I have confirmed the Opti being from an OBDII should not really have caused the problem I have another question.
I bought an LT4KM and put it in... could that have been bad and be the cause of this issue?

Just bought an AutoXray 3000 for 120 from my neighbor and there are no codes... this car hates me.

Is there any way when codes are not present to test for Opti Failure?
