Finally we got a little break in the weather! It was a little cooler at 78 but the humidity was down a lot from what it has been the past month. Still not a perfect pass, I felt the tires turn over just a teensy bit on the launch but the rest of the run was solid. This is from Dunn Tire Raceway in Lancaster, NY, which is typically a tenth slower than other tracks due to a few imperfections (it's slightly uphill in some spots, lol).

As soon as I hit some solid 7.05's I will head to Empire Dragway about 75 miles away and get my 10, still on the stock shortblock!

I've got a new tranny/converter sitting here too! The tranny has a lower first gear (2.75 vs a 2.54 current) and it has a brake. The converter is the same stall speed, but more efficient up top, so lets hope it gets me a tenth or 2!

Thanks guys!

I finally got my Madman dipstick in today. Fo those of you contemplating going to a th350 or a th400 do yourself a favor and buy Madmans dipstick. The only alternative is the braided steel Lokar flexible one. If you run the Lokar one, it will take you literally 1 hour to add a quart of fluid to your transmission. The hole at the top of the Lokar dipstick is maybe 1/3" wide and you won't have a funnel in your garage small enough to fit. Madman's dipstick is a metal tube just like the factory piece but is has the bends to follow along a 4th gen floor pan. It's cheaper too!

My new converter is a 8" one which should launch the car real good!

Nice run, I like the stock bottom end! I am on the same road with my car, I now want to see how fast I can make my car on current motor set-up (which is stock heads and bottom end).
