cool. I saw that exact car but in a 'vert tongiht and was thinking the CS meant Carol shelby and then i was like "no i bet that's some sort of california edition"

I've always thought the same thing as 95blkta on the gt/cs, thought it was a carrol shelby gt. So then is it a trim package? I say talk them into blacking out the marker and taillights, or at least paint the panel between the tails black, too much white back there, needs something to break it up, good looking car though.

A California Special is basically visual upgrades. Things like logo's on the floor mats, 18" wheels (supposedly "special" in some way or another), rolled exhaust tips, stripes on doors, etc. No performance gains what-so-ever.

Hahhah. My mom has always loved Mustangs so this was her first choice. She really likes it.

I think you covered pretty much covered everything; I haven't really looked into it much. But I know the California Special was also only an appearance package in the 60's too.
