Ok, I'm looking at getting datamaster to datalog, and tunercat.
I do NOT have a laptop... never have. I'll be looking for some old/used/outdated ones that'll work as a dedicated tuner laptop.

What are the minimum requirements I should look for?
I couldn't find anything for tunercat, but i did find them for datamaster. Would the minimum be ok, or will it frustrate me to no end? I mean, I know it will "work"... but should I look for something better?

Datamaster...
Runs on the Windows 98, 2000 ME, NT, & XP operating systems and needs 800 x 600 minimum display resolution and one free serial port if data recording is used. It is recommended to have a 133 MHz or better Pentium-class system and at least 64 MB of RAM. DataMaster software requires 10 MB disk capacity

+1

I don't think you can even find a laptop with those specs anymore. Shoot even my old Compaq with windows 98 had more than that.

we've got a dell inspiron 1525 that had windows vista on it but we switched it over to windows xp... we used that for the data on the TA and we keep other miscellaneous stuff about the TA on it too... but its new and its a little on the expensive side... I'll have to get my dad to chime in here later on and give you his suggestions on used laptops... he's like a computer genius lol

Yeah... I figured those requirements were WAY low... just kinda wondered what's really needed to be happy with tuning. I don't want to have it crashing or have to wait an hour between datalogs.

In other words.. I know nothing :D
AND... that was just datamaster... i don't know what the requirements are for tunercat.
