Anyone interested in a non shootout LTX get together?

Who would be interested in a general LTX meeting, gathering, car show, whatever? The shootout is probably the best idea over all as most of us enjoy going to the track. But what about something different?

Anyone interested in this? Anyone have any ideas?

Again, just throwing the idea out there and seeing how everyone feels about it.

Id go, depends on how far though. I bet it will be far from me either way, nobody with fbodys (or on this site anyways) lives near me.

And, the ones that do live near me with fbodys just beat the piss out of them (they are all crappers) and dont do anything to em. So they wouldent be good for this site anyways.

Place would probably be central US, unless everyone who is interested is closer to a different location.

Memphis is pretty central. Somewhere probably around TN, KY, IL.

Again, this is just to gauge interest. If there is enough, then we will take the next step and see out of where everyone who is interested where would be a good place.

Racing or not the Shootout is the place to be. Everyone from Canada to Texas will be there,and by far will have the most people show up.

Keep the west coast members in mind. TN, KY, and IL is quite a drive for the west coasters and not really "central".

Don't misunderstand my post here. I am not asking if we should have something instead of the shootout. Or that the shootout is a bad idea. On the contrary, the shootout is something that I would love to go to (just can't because of timing this year). I also think the shootout is awesome, and this is not something even to compare it to really. I agree that the Shootout will bring the most people also.

This is something totally seperate from the shootout. Maybe a car show, maybe a dyno, maybe even a track meet, or a combo of some sorts. (on a lesser scale than the shootout, but something we could still get together on)

chipsahoy, I agree that TN, and KY are much further away from California than they are from Maine. Maybe something a little more west would be more appropriate like Kansas.

Location is really a secondary thing. First we need to know if there is enough people interested to make it happen or not (say at least 40-50 people). Then, once we know there are enough people interested, then we can find out where those who are interested are from, and just find a place that is most convinient for the majority. In the end, everyone will have to drive some. Some will have to drive further than others. But having it near the majority will make it easier on the most people as possible.

i know of 3 people for sure would go that are members here AND east coast people and west coast have about the same drive AND there is a shop that does tunes on LT1 's and i have been told that he does a really good job

Again, location would be determined after we knew if enough people would be interested. Location would probably make the difference of some going vs not depending on the drive. Again, it would be someplace centralized unless we have a majority interested that are from a specific coast or location.
