All-
I'm trying to get my build wrapped up and can't seem to get my F1A to fit right. I mocked it all up on the motor while it was on the K-member outside the car. Once the motor started to go in (from the bottom) I realized it wouldn't fit right off hand. I removed it, got the motor in, and now I can't get it to fit in there! I've tried from the top and from the bottom. I'm crammed between the water pump and the ABS block, and the radiator is giving me a bit of hell in the front (but with the radiator support removed, I got a bit of play room.
Car is a 97 Z28 with ABS/TCS, stock fans on radiator. Any suggestions?

Honestly you may need to delete the abs and put slim fans in (and/or stand the radiator vertical)
The f1a is a big blower and not necessarily meant for a stock engine bay

Shoot SRZ a PM. His car has an F1A on it, and he could probably tell you what you need to know.

I had to delete my ABS block and grind the brackets away for my PSC1, so I can only imagine with the F1

Yeah, even removing the block and leaving the brackets had it grinding grooves into the side of my blower from the motor vibrating and twisting....

Delete my ABS?????? Hell no.
The idea behind my build was to retain the stock systems...I spent a lot of money converting a 3-channel Moser 12 bolt to a 4-channel (because I also have TCS), and a lot of headache getting it back together due to the ABS rings on the axles.
There's gotta be a way around it.

I've never had working ABS on my Z and never had a problem stopping.. ABS to me is more of a crutch/hindrance than it is helpful.
Goodluck finding a way around it. It's not like everything is all of a sudden going to fit, without moving or deleting something.

agreed, most likely something is gonna have to be relocated if you plan on keeping everything functional. And Im with you.... ABS messes me up.....

It's NOT the ABS block that is in the way. It's the TCS stuff. You cannot run ANY ProCharger with the TCS still on the car. You can delete the TCS (or re-locate it) and still run the ABS, you just have to re-plumb the ABS to like it would be if the car never had TCS. Very few LT1 F-bodies had TCS (Mine did though), so that's why it's not a common known problem with ProCharger applications.

You are correct, I just resort to calling all of that stuff ABS.

I ended up deleting the TCS. Not something I wanted to do, but it had to be done. I also had to modify the ABS bracket as well, but it fits now!

Just ,make sure that you modified the baracket enough... I though I had the first time, but did not take into account how much the motor torques when Im ON IT.... rubbed the blower housing right against that bracket.... FORTUNATLY I broke the motor and pulled it to find the problem... (hahaha, that was the fortunate thing)

Lol, I got fed up with it being mounted on the car and grinding and cutting and fitting....and I finally pulled the damn bracket off the car, got it in the vise, and went to town. I can see quite a bit of daylight around the S/C, so I think I'm good. I also have poly engine mounts, which you probably have too PoPo.
