Popping on decel

Guys,

hope this hasn't been beat to death, if so mybad.

neways, i just recently bought back a car ive owned for several years. and since then, it pops on decel. sometimes really bad, and sometimes not so bad. wat could cause this??

mods are: Lt's, ory, muffler delete, madz tune, ngk tr6's, etc.

any ideas on wat is the problem??

How are the plugs and o2's? Does it do this from WOT to decel, Or just any time when you let off the gas?

plugs are fine, just changed them before i went to the track a couple weeks ago. O2s were new before i sold the car..

doesnt pop from wot, jus like cruising around town speeds

Id look in the tune imho. May be running a little rich at cruising.

You beat me to it!!! sucking cooler air in through an area where a leak may be occourring then having it meet with the hot air of the exhaust = POP!

i think its the tune... If it was an exhaust leak, wouldn't it be louder at WOT.

He said it doesn't do it coming down from a WOT pull... I think its just a rich point in the center of the band.

i really dont think this is an opti issue. simply because the car ran the 1/4 exactly wat it ran wen i owned it previously.

the ses light isnt on either.

i do have an exhaust leak where the ypipe slides over the drivers side header, ill tighten it and see.

also, could the 2.5 in exhaust from the ypipe back change nething?? i have lt headers with an ory pipe which is 3in. and then it goes into 2.5 all the way out the back with no muffler.

also, i think it did it before i got the car tuned actually

my car and my buddys car do the same thing when our cutouts are open, so id say it has something to do with you not having a muffler

I dont think this is normal cuz it pops alot on decel, and really loud too.

My money is on exhaust leak as well . . .my car started doing that recently as well . . . . it also started leaking by the Y as you described at the same time the popping started . . .

Fix the leak (as I need to do myself) and I'll put $20 on it the pop goes away . . :cool:

mine's popping as well, and i'm fairly certain its the leak.
