went to the auto-x race today in Sioux Falls. low and behold, 2 more LT1 powered Z28's showed up, a white t-top Z, and a red Vert. both 6-speeds. oh and an LT5 car decided to make an appearance too :D

i was the slowest of the Z28's, and i didn't get all my runs in either (6 runs total, i only got 4 in before i had to stop). halfway through my 4th run, something came loose under my right arm (under the car), and started making a knocking that i could hear through my helmet. i still don't know exactly what happened, all i know is that it's making a knocking sound whenever i get on it a little in 1st gear. it almost sounds like a u-joint that's binding really badly, like i tore the torque arm off the 3rd member or something??? i tried to make one more run, but called it quits after the first couple of corners. something is definitely not right under the car.

anyways, i ran a best of 84.336 seconds. my times in order: 86.611 (never got a chance to walk the track, took it blind pretty much), 84.336, 84.736, 87.448 (run that my car broke), after that i shut her down.

i know the white Z28 ran a best of 82.301, and the Vert kicked everyones ass with an 81.102.

the fast guys were really on their game today though. the little Caterham Super 7 ran a 65 something in one of his last 3 runs. one of the Evo's was running 68's and 69's all day long.

all in all, it was a great day. i just have to figure out what happened to the car, and get it ready for the next event:metal: i got one hell of a farmers tan too:laugh:

Im not a betting man but if I was I would say that you broke a trans mount. I did the same thing at Cordova and it sounded like something was trying to come through the floor pan. Turned out the trans was torqing over and the drieshaft was hitting when given enough power. Get under the car and put a jack under the tailshaft of the trans and pump it up a little, I bet its in two pieces.
