In the future (when I save some more money) I will want to get my LT1 to 383. I was wondering, should I go with the Golden supercharger shortblock or get the one I have right now bored and stroked

And same for the heads. Port and polish or buy a set from Lloyd Elliot?
What would come out cheaper?
Thanks ever one :hail:

Why don't you just do some research and figure it out.. Look around at other set-ups and see what they are running, are you going for a full strip car, a car with lots of power but good street manners???

By the time you purchase all the parts, pay for machining, and pay for assembly you are probably pretty close to the cost of Golen or our assembled short blocks.
As for whose heads to use.....it is a toss up. LE and AI both have great products and are reasonably priced, so you can't lose either way.

I will want a powerful street car. I don't want it to be a drag car with DR and the shocks. My goal in the future is to be rolling next to a Ferrari or Lamborghini or what ever and be able to keep up with it or even pull away. I guess your right, there is many different setups to choose from. It's just that I talked to a guy on Youtube who has a 383 LT1 Camaro and he said it's not worth it because he spent a lot of money and the people who did the boring didn't do a good job. I'm not to sure. Maybe I will just sell the car when engine gives and buy a sports bike.

How the hell can you screw up the boring of an LT1 block? It is basically an sbc. Any machine shop in the world can bore an LT1 block, it's not rocket science. Ported stock heads are tough to beat. They will smoke a stock aftermarket head for the most part, unless you are talking an AFR 227 or 210.
Can you assemble the short block?
If so, I would talk to some of your local guys and see where they take their race motors to for machining. Buy a pre-balanced 383 rotating assembly and have at it. Send your heads out to LE or AI, and save a lot of money over purchasing a new short-block.

Alright, thanks. I have never done it but I have a workshop that is surrounded by all different kinds of auto businesses and I am go friend with them so whenever I need to borrow a tools or need some advise or anything they always help me. On of them took apart my trans for no cost. And today I am taking of the SC to get it rebuild so I will need to take it apart and I think they will help me in that. (I don't have a bearing puller but they do.)

If you can take your time and do the assembly that will help alot woth cutting cost.. The guy on you tube might of had a bad experince with a messed up shop so now his opinion is just don't bore which is shit.. Personally i would send the block out and get all the machine work done, do a splayed 4 main, get teh fully forged fully balanced 383 kit and do not skimp on the heads and cam set-up cause it will kill your goal.. I would get a custom grind cam with some bad ass heads if you want to see this engine perform.. Than it's up to you to choose boost or juice..
