Alright the drivers side was a breeze putting in my LPP headers. Passenger side however :( The first bad omen was one of the studs broke off the starter when I went to remove it (add a new starter to the LT install) and I just can't get that stupid header in there. . . I can get it close but it keeps hitting the K member or the lines on the a/c compressor

I had the engine unbolted and jacked up but it wasn't going up a whole lot and am limited as to where I jack the engine because of how I have to tilt the header to get it in. . .

1.)So where does everyone jack the engine from?

2.)and I've heard of people grinding on the K-member as well, does anyone have any pics of exactly where and how much . . . ?

3.)also does everyone remove the heat shield on the passenger side ? not really sure if that would help or not and not sure how much difference it makes on heating the passanger compartment

Any other tips/tricks are a welcome

Again thanks for helping a newb :shiner:

How far off the ground do you have the car? Pics would be helpful...

Remove the dip stick and alternator, should slide right up. Make sure your car is lifted high enough. Havent put mine in yet so pics of the k member would be great incase i have to do a lil grinding. Pass side is always a bitch.

you need it get it up high I have 24 inch jack stands and I had the car on top of 4x4s on top of those to get the hight, you really need to tilt them to get them up in there.

BTW be carefull not to bust a hole in your heater box. I know I did when I put mine in the first time and the air flow out the vents went Bye-Bye. now it dont matter the HVAC box went Bye-Bye.

Thats the way to do it, both the headers AND ditching the heater box :D

Get that sucker UNSAFE high, but just be safe about it. You can lower it down once you get it past that point where it goes in smooth. Lots of jackstands, a jack that will get you WAY off the ground, and things stacked under your ramps/jackstands to get the angle right. It takes ALOT sometimes.

I really don't think hight is the issue I CAN get the header in there its just like three inches from the head to the flange. It just keeps catching on the K-member or if I try tilting it so It doesn't do that it hits the a/c lines.

I did my header install with the motor out, I don't know what you guys are having so much trouble with :D

But I did help my buddy install a set of pacesetters with his BMR k member it wasn't too bad. This winter my motor is coming out again so hopefully I can snag a set of LPP headers and do the install when the motor is out again
