Okay so im in the process of taking my motor out to fix a few problems...well im sick of my abs unit being in the way. Especially since it doesn't work anyways. So how do i go about getting rid of it? What do i need...or have to do with all the lines that used to go into the abs unit? I see alot of people have asked about this and had the sjm kit linked to them or jakesz28.com's write up but i kinda want to find tips on how to do it myself/what i need to buy? Thanks for any help and advice.
Thanks,
Nick K.

I made my own lines and bought the proportioning valve and line lock separate. The SJM kit would be the simplest way to go just gotta pay a little more for the convenience!

Yea well im just gonna tackle this myself and use a T fitting for the front and just hook in a brake proportioning valve in the back line.

Run the passenger side brake lines along the firewall over the back of the engine, so that in the future if/when you pull the motor you don't have to disconnect the brake lines on that side and re-bleed when re-installing the motor.

That's what I did. Jakesz28 has some pics of it on his site.

The reason why I ask is because I'm doing the LS front brake swap and keeping the stock rear:confused:

4 channel refers to if you have traction control. Do you have the ASR button on your dash? If not, you have 3 channel.

3 channel ABS has 1 brake line going to the rear (from the ABS unit) and T's. 4 channel has 2 brake lines going to the rear (from the ABS unit). Like Paulster2 said, its the difference of traction control or not.
