Ive searched the other forums and the net. Has anyone ever weighed a stock LT1 with all the accessories? The weight for both the LT1 and 4l60e attached would be great. And the weight for both the LT1 and the T56 attached. I found a site that had the weights, but it looked like they were LS1 weights. Thanks for your help in advance.

Since the LS1 is an aluminum block I'd assume a LT1 is heavier. Not much though. ~475lbs is my best guess but I couldn't find any concrete numbers.

The 4L60E is something like 100-120 pounds with everything, and an LT1 with ALL the junk on it I cant see being more than 400-500 pounds... My honest guess would be like 520-550 Total 4L60E and LT1 with everything.

Got it, I was a little off...
460.9 lbs - LT1 (5.7L) Manual with oil and flywheel
405.5 lbs - LT1 (5.7L) Auto with oil and flexplate
Crediting LT1 Engine on that one, good stuff...

Why do you need to know the weight if you don't mind me asking?

Well i have a few reasons. :D I was just curious how much it weighed in comparison to the LS1. Also, Im doing a swap from a 96 3.8 to a LT1. I changed the entire front suspension to an LT1 suspension, but I have cast iron heads. The guy who owned the engine before me installed them on there. Its an Fbody block, but the heads are from a Caprice. I was just curious what the weight difference would be and how it would affect my ride height and springs.

Is that right though? Those are the same weights Brent's page gives for the LS1 Engine..I wonder which site is correct.

575 for a generic 60s-70s smallblock, 535 for an aluminum headed 283. The LS1 is listed at 460 lbs.
Taken from here: http://www.bacomatic.org/~dw/library/txt/engfyi.htm
Sounds about right as another source listed the LS7 at about 460.

If its not correct I would be surprised, everything I have come across on LT1engine.com has been accurate.
