My car is running rich and engine light is one so I scanned it and the problem is the left o2 sensor. Would that be the driver side?
Also I am suspicious as to why it went bad so quick because I changed it not to long ago. I have a huge dent in the y pipe on the driver side and the driver side header is wrapped. Could the build up and high heat do something to the o2 sensor? Maybe I just wasn't careful enough when I took it off to wrap the header.

if the scanner says left bank o2 sensor then yes its the driver side, have you recently put headers on the car and where they coated? if so when the headers heat up and the coating starts to cure the fumes can foul a sensor. also what brand of o2 sensor did you put in? ive heard of alot of poeple having problems with bosch and many others. our PCMs only like ac delco and a couple of other brands. people run bosh with no problems, but i hear of this issue more then a little. its probley running rich because of the bad o2, its not making fuel adjustemts.
hope this helps good luck!

That pretty much answered all my questions! I have not installed new headers or have had them coated. However, when I wrapped them with header wrap I did use the silicon spray on it. And yes, I have a bosch sensor. That's what I was thinking, it is running rich because of the o2 sensor. Thanks a bunch! I will get a AC Delco o2 sensor asap!

the spray may of only affected the o2 if you sprayed on the inside, it wouldnt effect the o2 at all if you only sprayed on the out side. unless some how you sprayed the o2 sensor...???? be carful when putting in new o2 with new coated headers, you dont wanna foul out the new sensors. you might and you might not, i know i did.
