I just downloaded Tunercat 2.21 and am trying to get it to let me get to changing some constants. But I don't know how to get the thing to work. Can anyone give me a walkthrough of how to set up Tunercat to start programming and how do you flash the new file onto the car?

you need to have at least an initial file on it to mess with the settings

Mine is a little different and I have to burn the chip.. somehow you have to get a stock .bin file or at least whatever tune you have on your car right now. Wish I could help more but I only know how to do it with a chip reader/burner

Well it has a Asdz.bin file already on it, I just don't know if that is car's computer.

Do you have the ASDZ label on your pcm/ecm anywhere

yea, i did that. i didn't notice that the $EE wasn't installed so I installed it and got my .bin file. changed some constants and now it shifts right.

ok, now how do I know if I'm running rich? I use TTS right now and it says my BLMs are 128, but I'm in open loop due to bad o2 which I'm about to fix. Is that BLM correct or not cause it's in open loop?

Is that a common problem? I'd like to start tuning mine.... but don't want to mess it up having no clue what I'm doing.

well im not sure if its common, but i was programming it and just as it was about to finish said Error something something. so i just ordered a madz28 pcm. and i plan on using tunercat again to modify shift points. so hopefully, it doesn't happen.

Sometimes they'll come back. just leave the battery disconnected for about 1/2 hour and it may come back to life.
I've done a whole bunch of em, and about every 10 or so, will have a problem either reading or writing to it. When they have an error during the read, they will almost always come back. If they error during the write, its about 50/50.

Ive never killed a pcm while tuning. Ive done well over 500+ uploads and not one killd pcm. Even had a low battery in a car and the tune still went through. Go ahead and get it.

yea, i tried unplugging the battery for about 30 minutes, and not life is restored. just waiting for my madz28 tuned pcm to come in and send the dead one back it. this will count as a core right? it has no physical damage or anything, just pcm needs to be reset somehow.

I have fried about 5 pcms in the last 10 years while flashing the new bin files in. Not very common but it does happen.

its not bad just have to take your time and change one thing at a time..that a way if you do booger something up, you can go to the previuos file.
