I've been reading up on a selection of EBC's for my turbo project and I'm just lost on which one I want.

there's the EBOOST2, TRU-BOOST, or APEXi AVC-R

Now I was pretty set on the TRU-BOOST as it's the simplest but I've read up and people still have trouble with the boost tapering off in the upper rpms like a MBC.

I like the features of the EBOOST2 and the APEXi but their price is substantially more than the TRU-BOOST and then there is the problem of mounting them.

the EBOOST2 is a 60mm gauge and won't fit in my 52mm gauge pod and the APEXi is a rectangular controller

The TRU BOOST is 52mm and would fit perfect but I wont deal with boost bleeding off in the higher rpms.

both the EBOOST and the APEXi also have boost per gear tuning which will help alot with traction as I will be on street tires the majority of the time.

Is the extra $$ worth it for these (I know this depends on my own mindset but what do ya'll think)

I don't need the best of the best but I won't settle for loosing boost in the upper rpms..

I plan on 10psi the majority of the time and another setting on 15psi

unless you just need the benefits of a boost per gear or other options of the Eboost2, why no go with a MBC with a heavier spring for the check ball and a lighter spring in the wastegate.. this will cure the peak and taper off effect of a std MBC. it is pretty common that people trying to adjust only a pound or two of boost run into this problem because when the MBC opens it takes a second for the heavy spring in the wastegate to open and then they both finally settle down where they are supposed to be.. by going with a real light wastegate spring and using a heavier spring in the MBC this fixes it by having a bigger spread of what p[ressure is required to open the gate and how fast it can respond to boost. just a thought that may save ya some money!

also to me a MBC is simply hard to beat once you know how to set it up they are generally extremely easy and reliable and steady boost through the RPM range!

I understand the thought process there, my buddy runs a MBC in his regal.. it's just that I want complete accuracy when it comes to boost pressure and turning a knob isn't always the most accurate, especially since MBC are extremely sensitive to weather conditions, and I regularly go between FL and NY.

I would prefer an EBC because of what you said for the boost per gear.. I don't plan on putting sticky tires on the car until I have the money for an S60 or 9 inch, so I'd rather not be all over the place in the first couple gears..

This will also be my first car I've ever driven with over 400whp so it'll be a big learning curve for my driving ability and I think an EBC would help me with that
