Had some fun tonight down in mexico racing.

First run was with a 68 firebird, just met the guy tonight and got him to come race with us. He has a really nice restored 68 with a built big block.

Pontiac 455 bored to a 465. Fair sized comp cam. Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads. 12:1 compression, Dual carbs, Edelbrock intake.

I wasnt going to launch hard but I figured what the hell I better not give him too much credit. I 2 stepped it from the launch and jumped out about 3 cars. He spun pretty bad off the line and fish tailed til 60 or so. Low and behold he started reeling me in. Pulled back to within half a car then he shut down at around 95. I usually shut down at 100ish.

LT1 by half a car.

Next is a rematch with a friends 02 ls1 m6. We raced a long time ago when he had a hurt piston and I put bus lengths on him. Tonight he wanted to try and redeem himself since he just had a fully forged motor built, bumped compression, stock shaved 241 heads, a "chad cam" which is a little bigger than the MS3, and 4.10 gears.

I 2 stepped him and jumped out about the same 3 cars and flat foot shifted every gear. Just RIPPED through them flawlessly with my built T56. I pulled out a little further by the time I shifted into second and had a solid 4.5-5 cars on him. We ran it out til about 110 and he NEVER pulled back one inch on me.

He just had his car dyno tuned when the engine was built and it put down 404 rwhp.

LT1 by 4+

Not a bad night of racing :)
