Whats up everyone I'm paul from ontario
I am 17 and for the last 2 and bit years I've restoring a 1995 Chevy Impala SS I found in the woods. I'm finally to the point where I can do some engine mods. I had a quick question, a local guy offered me stock aluminum heads.. for $250. Seems like a good deal to me, is there anything I should look for stress wise on them? Also is offering a Comp Cams "306" cam, 230 / 244, .510 / .540 112 LSA. I know that with a cam change comes alot of other suppporting mods but if it a good price why not ehh ahah thanks everyone lookin forward to learning alot here!

welcome, yes it seem to be a good deal on that heads an cam, you will need springs and rockers an push rods an lifters and stall and trans cooler along with it tho, take a straight edge with u make sure the straight, and look for visible problems and cracks. i have 2 cc306s in that i have in different cars great cam.
oo and get some pics, maybe pics of it in the woods before u restored it tooo, it has me curious.

I'd have a little port work done to the heads and have them cleaned up with that cam, as it's pretty big for a "stock heads" setup. Obviously you'll want some exhaust and a intake work to let that cam breathe. I'm not sure what size injectors the impala come with stock, but I'd say you're approaching their limits with cc306/ported heads

Wow thanks alot for the great response!! I think I have a picture of the car in my driveway after we got it home none of it in the forest. We were playin baseball, I had to go find the ball in the woods and I found the SS instead! Never found the ball though ahaha. Right now I definitely do not have the money it takes to do a heads+cam swap, but for the right deal it wouldn't be a bad idea to have them ..maybe save up awhile get them polished ported and when funds are right, and I have the supporting mods I can doa rebuild! Thanks again for all the great advice!
