If I don't really know some one all that well before hand, I would rather meet them at what ever we are going to and not pick them up. I had a girl get offended by this, but my take is, this day and age safety factor for the girl because you have your own car there and two, if I don't know you and we don't click, I don't ever want to see you again, let alone drive you home. She thought I was doing that because I wanted to ditch her? :hmm: wtf mate. But if you don't know me, why would you trust me to know where you live and stuff. I'm obviously not going to do any thing, but I don't really give people the benefit of the doubt until I get a chance to meet them a couple times

Age would come in to play somewhat, but I'd tend to agree. If you've met them more than once, I'd probably offer to pick them up.

I agree, if you don't click then you don't need to worry about spending a whole evening together and then worry about taking someone home.

I think hes right. It makes it tough.
I still support the two car movement, but the question is highly dependant on pics of the person in question...

Fixxer,
She had a car and I have no pics of said car or her for that matter. Personality wise, she seemed really insecure, I had just met her but she was wanting a full relationship just from the first date. Kinda scary, plus she said some stuff while I was eating that was super gross and she thought was normal conversation. Like is some one was eating, you wouldn't tell some one a story about how your dog ate cat shit, threw it up and it was foot long, but you didn't feel like cleaning it up so you put a towel over it and went about your way till you felt like cleaning it. All in all I hate dating but I'll be damned if I date some one I dislike for the sake of not being alone.

Call me old fashioned, but I tend to disagree with you Neil. I think a standard "date" would include you picking the chick up, and dropping her off. If things don't go well, you just don't do it again. If you got to the point you both wanted to go out together on a date, there shouldn't be anything scary or alarming about picking her up and dropping her off.
Who you date is your own buisness. But if on the first date she was talking about her cat eating its own fecal matter, then she doesn't sound like much of a keeper to me, but perhaps she's really good looking and you are lonely? :hmm:

Ouch Neil, Ouch....
If you had put it that way to begin with... Its amazing what some people will talk about, and then get mad when you think they are weird. At Dinner? On a first date/meeting?
Ouch...
