I got offered $6500 cash for my car today, I'm probably gonna do it. What I want to know is how much is it gonna take to find another camaro/transam and make it as fast as my current one? I'm mainly looking for something with Heads/Cam and I would prefer an LT1 over an LS1 but I'm willing to try one out. I've got about 4200 in the car without the heads/cam and performance bolt ons.

If your looking to get out of the LTx game I'd do it, as that's a pretty good offer IMO. But if you're just going to get another LTx and make it faster, I'd just keep your car. No point in the hassle of switching cars and not knowing what's been done to it.

If I was to get another Lt1 I would want to be as fast as I am now and hoping to save enough cash for a DD

I wouldn't sell mine for $6500, i know that. I've got way more into it than that and it's a very clean and somewhat rare car. I have it insured for $10k.

Don't do it. I sold my car and ended up makin some money but still regret it everyday. I wish I woulve returned the car to stock and kept the nx system and stall for my next car.

if your car is in good shape and youre looking for another LTX, dont do it! IMHO, the risks dont outweigh the benefits. You could be looking at someone elses lemon and spend the rest of your "profit" in repairs.
HOWEVER, if you were looking to get a LS1 powered vehicle or something other than a LTX, it would be worth it to sell for $6500.
Just my $.02.
Good luck!

My Original intentions were to buy a LT1 powered car and make some profit but mainly having a chance to see what it was all about in the process. The car wasnt supposed to be in bad shape but I'm suprised it made it back, I got home after driving the car 3 1/2 hours (7 hours round trip) and popped the hood and found out it was running on 3 cracked spark plugs, 2 plug wires burnt straight through, burnt up cap/rotor. Both O2's were shot, it was untuned and had the cam head work done along with shorty headers/magnaflow exhaust. It was running super rich and seemed like i had a 5400 red line . So what was supposed to be a quick money maker was a lemon. I've got 1600 bucks in reciepts for everything I've done to it. and 4200$ invested total. Doing all the work to the car myself except for tuning. Needless to say I have become quite attached to it. I've pretty much needed tires since I got the car in July...Thats gonna be around 700 bucks at least. I also would like to upgrade from 2.73's to 3.73's , change stall from 2500 to 3000 and swap out my stock injectors for 30lb svo's. My original plan turned in to a money pit.

So you have the car running good now... And want to trade it for something else? After your previous experience with the car?!?!?!
If its reliable and runs strong, keep it!

I agree with the croud on this one. If you've done that much work to it, no wonder you are attached. Sounds like it is a great little car, and you are going to have a very hard time finding another LTX with that much done to it that is in good shape.
If you are looking for what you already have for cheeper, I'd say look before you sell yours, and you'll realize that your car with its mods is NOT an easy find, let alone for less money. If you do happen to come accross something that is what you are looking for, all for less money than you'll get out of yours, thats when I would say "go for it".
LS1's are easier and cheeper to make go fast compared to the LT1's. But then again, they just don't have the raw cackle and rumble the LT1's do. I have one of each, but I honestly still prefer my old LT1 over my LS1.

How many miles are on your car? Where do you live as well?

I was told the motor was replaced and had 40k miles on it, the body has 133,004. I have put 5k miles on her. Located in Georgia

Sounds like it has lived a hard life, unless you have paper work the motor has 130k on it. Check around and see if you can find a low mile unit you want, Demod your car a bit and sell it
