Even when you drive an automatic and not on a hill?

Of all my friends, I know of two that use the parking brake all the time, even when not on a hill and drive an auto.

some ppl use it with automatics to preserve the transmission to apply the brake before puttin in gear

Using it if you have drum brakes will help keep the rear brakes adjusted better. Also If you dont ever use it, parts will freeze up and then you have problems. As stated above, it will also help take some stress off the trans.

always regardless of transmission. hearing that horrible clunking sound if the car rolls even slightly is enough to make me loose my mind so it has become a reflex. i dont preach but its more irritating to me than people shifting into reverse or drive while the car is still moving in the other direction.

I AM bored. I'm trying to get a job, in my recent videos on youtube and posts here, I was actually handing in my resume to a couple businesses. No ones calling back. :(

Only one who called me was Florida Revenue Service.

I use mine all the time, it's a habit I picked up in the Army. We use parking brakes on EVERY Gov't vehicle we drive, from HMMWV's to Impala's, and in tactical vehicles, we also put down chock blocks and drip pans. I didn't even realize I had started doing it in my car until I came home on leave. It had become habit by that point, now I always do it.

I can't stand it when people shift from reverse to drive (or vice versa) while the car is still in motion, Dad always warned me about it, and a friend destroyed his transmission by doing that. Just another reason why I don't let anyone drive my car.

I used to along with putting it in gear, until it quit working a few weeks ago. Now I just park it in gear. I think I have a caliper hanging up.

Well my rear brakes are drums. I can't park my car in gear obviously because it's not a stick.

What should I do?

I have never used mine in a auto, except when I was on a really steep hill.
