View Full Version : Restricitons on titles (they are a pain)...

Maybe its just me, but it seems when I go to post a new thread that half the time an error comes up that "too many items are tagged" or "can't include *this* word".
Why are there these odd restrictions on titles of the threads? It is a pain to work with/around, and I strongly believe the site would be that much more user friendly if the title restrictions were lifted.

the forum generates tags (look below the area where you type the body of your new thread) based off the title and if it generates more than I think 5 tags, it will give you that error. Just simply delete any unnecessary tags.
Reviewing the tags before posting will also help the tagging system be more effective.

^ But why is there this restriction/why does it have to generate tags? It literally took me changing the title of a thread 10 different times until it accepted it. Other forums don't seem to have this restriction. I guess I don't see why LTX tech does. :online2long:
Not only that, but commonly used words are not allowed for threads.
It all seems that little things like this could be easily fixed and are unecissary.

i just delete the tags, and make a stupid tag an it goes thru.

??
Is there any moderator out there reading this that could just make the simple change I am requesting? Or at least explain to me the logic of why we have these restrictions?

the change would most likely have to be made to the board software itself.

I'm going to disable it, it doesn't really work well as it is.
