Well I'm a newb, and the week I'm attempting to:

Install UMI 3-point tubular SFC's
Install rod-poly end LCA's
Do a rag-joint elimination on the steering linkage
Remove AIR and EGR systems
Remove Cats
Install new water pump AND opti
Install new plugs and plug wires and go OVTVC
Install LPP long tube headers
Install new upstream o2's (delco)
Install a GMMG cat-back  (hopefully it will get here soon)
Install new motor mounts
and I have a PCM tune from PCM for less on the way . . .

Day one and two unfortunately it rained so today I have gotten the EGR and AIR systems off and removed the water pump . . .decided to take a break and do this thread . . .

Sooo if anyone wants to offer tips/sugjestions/words of encoragement they would be appreciated:stuart:

I'll also post any questions I have in this thread

P.S. so far I've only got a cut on my thumb and one on my pinky finger, let the games begin :shiner:

One word of advice. Have patience. You're doing a LOT to the car, so be patient and focus on the task at hand, don't get side tracked.

Your hands are going to look like hamburger when your done with all that. You are doing ALOT like Fastbird said, if you run into any problems post it up here and take a quick break. Thinks always come togeather after a beer/cig break.

Good to see you getting right into it though, nice list you got there too.

Thanks guys for all the well wishes guys :)
I have plenty of time . . . another 4 days anyway. I would post pics but I don't have a digital camera right now . . .
Anywho . . . I have the EGR off and blocked, Air system off and blocked, water pump off and the crank pully soaked in PBR and I have the drivers side exhaust manifold off and the factory cat-back dropped . . . Also soaked a bunch of other crap with PBR.
Stupid mid-west I'm gonna need a tetnis shot when I'm done with all this.

P.S. Add one more cut to the index finger and one new swear word (supercalofragalisticmotherphuker)

Good luck with all of the work!!! Cuts are fine, just make sure you dont lose any of your limbs.

I should add that the new swear word is best used when destroying a 3/8 craftsman breaker bar on the exhaust manifold flange bolts . . .which caused the index finger cut (unfortunately I have no power tools)

I can attest to one thing... the more stuff you remove the easier it is to change the spark plugs and plug wires ;)

Have fun and make sure you have everything you need. I hate running back and forth 2 the parts store when im working on something.

So I'm guessing since the air pump is gone it's not going to be necessary to reinstall the air pump bracket right . . ?
