i tried to fit y2k vette wheels on rear of the car today 18" with a 275 tire and they wouldnt fit on the drivers side. The passangeer side wheel fit fine but on the drivers side the body on the inside the wheel well was hitting the rim/ tire. I tried running a 5/16 spaces but it still didnt clear (not to mention the fact that the studs were too short and the lugs wouldnt go on) These wheels should fit without any problems, should they not? if anyone has any insight as to what i should do please chime in. Should i just beat the wheel well in a little bit? or run a bigger spacer and use extended wheel studs? any input is appreciated.
thanks,
Frank

nope, ive never heard that. not to mention the fact that they have directional tires on them. i got them used with tires and just attempted to put them on with the tire directionally correct... maybe that guy had it wrong??

adj panhard bar to center the axle our cars have this problem and get c5 wheel studs if no spacer they are a bit longer if you still have a problem get wheel adapeters

if i adjust the panhard bar they still wont clear on both sides... theres just not enough wiggle room. so im still gona have to run a spacer, which means im still gona have to get an extended stud. so im essentially back at square one, am i not? why do these fit fine on other cars but not on mine...??

you dont need aftermarket studs for wheel adapters just need them for spacers

Some have had this problem before, the cure is
1.3/8'' wheel spacers
2.longer studs, get them from the dealer for C5 vette they are 10 or 12 mm longer
3.adjustable panhard
Its really strange how some cars need this and some do not!

c5 studs are pretty cheap you just need them for the back and dont you already have a adjustable panhard bar? spacers are not that bad ethier its that 65+ offset in the gm corvette rims thats killing you

I KNow this is old ass hell, but I have the same wheels (corvette specs) and all I needed was a 1/4" spacer and had plenty of threads left on the stock studs.

its still recomended to change to arp studs with spacers for more stregth to help with the shear possiablity c5 studs are a hair stronger to i belive
