But damn, just me and him working on it ourselves, this f-body is kicking my ass.. my b-body treats me nicer, lol..

Are you asking for help or just telling a story? lolI'd assume just a story since it's in the lounge. Sure some cars are harder to work on then others, but I don't think the LT1 is that bad despite the engine being pushed back halfway into the firewall.

That being said, working on my dad's '70 Chevelle is a bunch easier.

Well I think this car is really in rough shape as it is, i mean it just has rod knock, I really do believe it's knock. But, I just spent the entire night at his place putting the water pump on, power steering pump, radiator fan, hoses, electrical, all sorts of things.

Several spark plugs were loose, which would definitely cause the no start. I tightened what I could (I didn't have a universal joint on the ratchet to get some that were in the way of headers).

This is the car from other posts that will stall all the time, suck lots of air through the intake, etc, misfire..

I didn't start a thread in the LT1 board because not really asking for help at this point. He's selling the car, so no bother. Just wanted to say, that the car has defeated me, hardly any room to work in there, vs my car.

I mean, here's some simple vids I took with my phone last night.. First one I cut short cause I took over and drove the car into the garage, which had no alternator, water pump, or power steering. Boy was THAT fun.. Had to do it as quick as possible, without stalling it.

After I put the engine back together. Still stalls. Whatever..

After that vid I did find 4 spark plugs loose, one wire arcing to headers and burnt.. I rerouted wires to no more arc, tighted what I could, not one change. I did find several burnt ECM electrical wires all over the place, for IAC, water pump sensor, just too many. A lemon as much as I hate to say it.

It would start even with 1 or 2 plug wires OFF, check relays and fuses first then look at Air,Fuel,Spark. Like I said It would start when with some wires not connected...it will just run like ass.

I worked on a boddy's LT1 car a few weeks ago, first time I've worked on an LT1 since I've had my LS1 car. YEAH FUCK LT1 CARS! :D

Well like I said in one video, it ain't firing on all 8.. It has spark though on all 8 cylinders though.

And you said there a knocking noise? Wonder if a lifter has collapsed, How many miles does it have on it? When were the plugs last changed? Does it eat oil? You might have a Fouled plug. If the wire wasn't on it and it was just getting soaked with fuel it will foul.

Lifters are brand new in it. New plugs, like a month ago. No eating oil, doesn't appear to...

I really don't want to get into the specifics in the lounge on it, because this car is done, it's getting sold, no hope.

Yea he's selling it, so I was told.

He did ponder putting a 96 engine in it and converting it to OBD2, which would give him a new harness he desperately needs.
