I've had a lot of trouble with anxiety and anxiety attacks recently and I was wondering if anyone on here had gone through it as well. If you have, then what ways did you find effective to get rid of it completely? It's made me miserable for the past two months and I'm tired of it. If i have to stay on medicine for it for the rest of my life then fine, but I'd rather find another way.

Ive got it horrable, it was running my life for a while. You can be semi cured through counceling and medication but it never really goes away...atleast not in my case.

I have a lot of symptoms, I just have different ones at different times. I'm going back to the doctor soon and I guess he's gonna put me on medicine. The weird thing is that I didn't have any of this stuff until about two months ago when I OD'd on Mucinex DM and Nyquil..(By accident).

I haven't had an attack, but I get depressed easily and when I do, I just get overly stressed.
My medicine? Music and singing it while dancing. Yea, funny, but it makes me laugh at myself and it makes me happy enough to break free..
Then again, I am a good singer, just not a dancer.

As long as I stay up beat it doesn't bother me as much, but the problem is that the two things that keep me up beat (my car and my gf) are currently non-existent. My car is down for paint and other stuff and I don't have a gf right now...

Music may do it. Look for some up-beat music. Like the new Gorillaz album (released today btw). There's a song called On Melancholy Hill. It's actually meant to bring spirits up, and hell it works for me. The entire album is fairly upbeat..

I went once and he gave me some pills that are habit forming so I used them only if I really need them. I'm going back and I guess I'll be getting something a little more long term.

Well I went in to the doctor again and told him everything I had been through and my blood pressure was still high (148/85) and he said that there are three main causes besides diet and exercise of course of high blood pressure; those being: thyroid, the chambers of the heart, and the kidneys. I've had an ultrasound on my heart already and a thyroid test done so now I'm doing a 24hr urine test and having an ultrasound on my kidneys because my high bp is causing me to have anxiety problems. So yeah...I'm kinda worried because what if something is wrong with my kidneys? Ugh.

I had it and it was the worst thing ever. I would get panic attacks i would feel chest pains and all the symptoms you would get when your getting a heart attack. I would get pains down my left arm and chest pains i would panic think i was going to have a heart attack. I would not want to do anything i would get very anxious would have trouble breathing. Oh and one of the things about anxiety is that stuff easily gets stuck in your head. For example about the commit suicide thing, you probably heard that on tv on the commercials and now you think about it. It happen to me. I took lexapro for like 3 weeks and then decided to leave them. What worked for me is to convince yourself that you are fine, its all in your head. Also there is this tea you heat up called "siete asares" its a tea you can find at mexican store its natural tea it makes you calm down and feel more relax i took everyday at night before bed.
I have high blood pressure and they just put me on a simple water pill/diuretic, because I was retaining water, which in turn also increases blood pressure, the med just makes you pee a little more! Hopefully yours is also not to big a deal and it can be easily remedied. Good luck!

Thanks! I just got done peeing in a jug for a day lol, and I start taking my blood pressure medicine tomorrow.
I know the feeling, when I found out I had high blood pressure it was by accident, I work in the medical field and one day everyone was sitting down taking their blood pressure, so I figured "why not?", it ended up being like 104 over 150 and I was like WTF!? So I go see a heart doc and he runs some tests along with an ultrasound of my heart, all to find out I'm retaining water lol!

Lol I hope you mean 150/104... 104/150 is death :P Mine was 148/85 but it hangs around 140/80 usually and should be about 120/70

So I went back in and they prescribed me Zoloft for my anxiety. I didn't wanna take it at first but I decided to take it last night and I had a panic attack. That ws the first panic attack I've had in months..So I called the doctor and told them and they said that the zoloft is for the anxiety and panic attacks and I should just take more...wtf? I think the zoloft caused me to have a panic attack..grrrr

Where you having a panic attack about trying not to panic when taking the panic pills?
Id do what your doctor says and just take about 5 of those bad boys , Give some small children the finger and blame it on the side effects. Your not old enough to blame stuff like that on going senial yet .
On a more serious note I think all you need to do is come up to chicagoland for a weekend and chill with a few of us and get a fbody fix.
