Hi I'm Charlie and I'm an addict.
When I took delivery of my Z28 back in 93 it was a Saturday afternoon and the Speed Shop had already closed...crap. I had to drive a stock car for a day and a half before I could get a Flowmaster, Air Foil, K&N Filter and a deposit on a Hypertec Chip (eProm)..they were in development yet.
That was over 15 yrs ago and it never stopped and is why I'm always broke. I turned to my wife for help and she took the keys and races her own Camaro now so she's off the deep end too.
No amount of counciling, Capt Morgan, or support from my F Body friends has seemed to help.
I now take it on a daily basis. I keep hearing the WOT roar of a Mustang in the hood and I have my choice of 2 F Bodies, it's hard to control it. I'm being called out. Nowhere to turn for support. I turn to my wife and she says "if you don't get him I will"...I mean what the hell.
There is no hope. The addiction is strong....and I'm sure as hell not alone!

I feel better now, Thankyou. :D

Just don't do what I recently did and add up your reciepts. You think Wall Street has a problem? :shiner:

I'm glad you came out like. I haven't had my car for that long but it's slowly bringing me into the addiction as well. I've tried to stop it but it just doens't work, there is simply no cure for it.

Ouch. My ole lady and I are munching ramen and Mac & cheese (well, I am at least....she's on the nutra-system) as I have to scrape together EVERY SINGLE PENNY I can to come up with fundage to put my Vette back together. Tis' what happens when the "Non-project" car breaks big time though.....

the feeling is mutual here... I bet my dad sometimes wishes he would've just kept letting me go to the mall rather than the drag strip :driving: I know I'm hooked for good and I plan on staying hooked... its even came down to the fact that I've given up my mall shopping sprees and I'd rather go on car part shopping sprees... I'd sale my brother as a slave before I ever gave up on the TA haha jk... maybe :secret:

no kidding, it all started for me about 15 years ago as well but it was a measely V6 under the hood. I still have that car and now another one. Since I have another one I've talked myself into purchasing a trailer to haul the 94 around and well, you gotta have a diesel truck to pull it reliably right? lol, when will it end.

Fastbird, cmon man...rule #1 in my book is to NEVER go back and add up the receipts.

As long as there are parts to buy and races to be run... There will never be a cure for my addiction!

I having first owned a 98 Formula grew to love the f-body.. I loved my ls1 no problems at all and I loved racing it. Well after a while I lost that car and got a 94T/A well as much as I hate that fucking car, it never wants to run, it give me nothing but problems but at the same Time I can't stop. I can't stop fixing it just to drive it, There is something different about it. Old school is the only way I know how to describe it. The sound the feel it keep me fixing it, I to have a problem.

Well i cant say i have the addiction yet, but i have it burning inside me. Im waiting till the beginning of the yr and then the modding will begin. I have had my 94 z for two yrs now and havent modded one thing. But i have plans to rebuild the motor and throw some LE2 heads and cam on it from lloyd elliot and do a bunch of suspension stuff like the koni strano setup everyone says is awesome and new wheels and tires along with sunoco hood and other goodies. Im so eager to be in the broke house with everyone else lol
