I just took out my LaserDisc copy of Terminator 2 to watch (yes, I still have a LaserDisc player.. The audio quality on them are better than DVD, and picture quality is just under DVD. Doesn't beat BluRay though, but that's not the point).

Upon taking disc one out, a paper fell out with it. It is a typed up letter from James Cameron. The signature is REAL too, it's a felt tip pen style ink on it, not a "print" of a signature.

Jeez, how much is this damned thing worth?!

Well, being that it came with the movie (apparently there's a few others with this leaflet), and signed with ink, I'd think if they went through that trouble, they'd just have him sign it, or just print a scanned signature.

The text appears to be silk ink or something, it's definitely of high quality.. Paper is like a stiff fabric type paper or something, not something that can be run through a printers rollers (so possibly pressed? i don't know).

LaserDisc came out shortly after VHS. It supports analog sound, digital uncompressed CD quality sound, dolby digital, or DTS. The CD and DTS audio format make it's sound quality better than DVD. DTS being the most sought after, cause DTS on laserdisc was less compressed than DVD DTS. Picture quality is, analog also. But just under DVD quality.

You can tell a laserdisc by it's gigantic size to a DVD.

That's what player I speak of. ;) That's my player. Mint, early 90's player.. Plays both sides of the disc without needing to flip the disc over, haha.

Dude you are all about some old ass technology.

I like old technology. Use a rotary phone, vacuum tube amp for ALL my audio needs (even on the computer), LaserDiscs. But I mean, if I want a REAL video experience, I just go BluRay.

We have old cars though, don't we? ;)

Never said anything was wrong with it, its just unusual for the general public to still use some of the things your hanging on to lol

May be unusual, but I got my reasons.

For example, audio on LaserDiscs just, surpass DVD's, the way they are digitally encoded just wins. I always use my Jurassic Park LaserDisc as a sound test.

speaking of old technology, we have one of these in a junk room in our basement. i'm 99% sure it still works too

for you kiddies too young to know what that is, its a Betamax VCR.

We had a sony one from the early 80s that broke and bought a VHS and then the shop repairing it found out there was a recall or something and we were sent a brand new one. we used too rent movies on VHS and copy them to beta. After that vcr died in the mid-late 90s we were at a garage sale and someone was selling an old beta top loader VCR with a WIRED remote (ours were newer front load ones w/ wireless) for $10. we bought it for the hell of it. they said it worked and sure enough, it did, lol. that one i posted above was just a random one i found online.

*edit* i just checked and it is down there and its actually a front loader sanyo

Im 29 years old and Ive never seen one of those in my life lol

I remember vhs and cassette's :shiner: And with the signature thing you can probably do an image search for something he has autographed or signed at one time or another. Surely his signature is out there somewere and you could compare
