Okay fella's... I know NOTHING about nitrous other than you hit the funny button and go fast juice gets put into the engine one way or another and you go faster? Why do I always see two lines going into a nozzle? One's nitrous I'm assuming but that the heck is the other? Also, what kind of timing do you have to do for nitrous? I'm getting more and more interested into the juice but not sure about it at all. I had a friend who ran it on his old 85 Ramcharger via a carb plate or something and had pills? I told you I didn't know anything about it? Anyone feel like doing a complete barney style breakdown for me? I'm willing to sit down drink a soda and read about anything. THANKS!

On a "wet" setup...
One is nitrous, the other is fuel.
Basically, you are adding more fuel, and the nitrous to be able to burn it.
A "Dry" setup just sprays nitrous, and the fuel is added by the computer through the existing injectors.
<computers and tuning are not my strong point... so this I'm not POSITIVE on>
On a stock tune... you don't HAVE to adjust the timing (not sure how big you can go without doing it). If you have a different tune... then it'll depend on that.
"pills" or "jets" are simply the little peices inside the nozzle that limit the amount of nitrous and fuel being sprayed. You put in larger ones to spray more.
I'm sure there's more info on it somewhere... but that answers the questions. :D

To add to that, not all nitrous set-ups are "hit the button and go". Mine, for example, is all electronically controlled via a window switch and WOT switch after it is armed. I felt safer doing this considering it a very basic setup.
There's a nice write-up on the accessories here:

Good point... you can have any kind of electrical switch in line before the nitrous will spray.
e.g.
Master arm switch
Momentary (only sprays if you're holding this button)
FPSS (Fuel pressure safety switch) - fuel pressure drops, nitrous stops
Window Switch - only sprays between two set RPMs (too low in RPMs es no bueno)
WOT switch - only sprays if at Wide Open Throttle - some are just a switch on the TB, not sure if some are totally electronic on some cars.
Probably others I'm missing. Heck if you wanted... you could run a relay so it won't arm unless your turn signal is on.. or you're honking :D
You can have any combination (including all) of these setup so it won't spray unless it's safe... and you want it to. Then again... some just hook up the nitrous, and press a button... with no safetly switches. Easy way to pop a motor. ;)

Wet kit is going to be the safest route. Pending on what kind of shot you are spraying you will need to pull timing. The rule of thumb is 1 degree per 50hp...or 2 degrees per 50hp to be extra safe. You will need a Digital6 (what I have), Mallory 685 or an MSD timing knob to adjust.
I wouldnt put nitrous on the car without a way to pull timing.
Nitrous is just as safe or unsafe as anything else you do to your car as long as the proper equipment is installed.

so running a 75-100 shot on a "stock" set up would be bad juju? can I pull timing with an MSD 6A?

no....you can run nitrous safely on a bone stock motor...what they are saying is you need more than just the basic nitrous kit to be safe.

the 6A does not directly have timing retard built in...this box will plug into your 6A and give you what you need.

Bingo...if you already have a 6a, you'll need that knob to adjust...or if you dont have a box at all. I would encourage you to look at the Digital6 or Mallory 685 boxes. This one box has the timing retard feature without the need of additional components...all in one!
Ray and I are partial to the Digital6 though:whistle:
