Just got tunercats going and starting to learn it.
In Solomon's help files he makes a distinction between the MAP tables and VE tables and talks about tuning them seperately.
He says to tune the VE tables in speed density mode, and then tune the MAF tables.
Problem is, where ARE the "maf tables" and "ve tables" in Tuner cats?
I only have the two "Volumetric Efficiency vs RPM vs MAP" tables.
is there something I'm missing here???

Volumetric Efficiency vs RPM vs MAP is your VE table, you have two because the rpms are only shown so far on each table (i.e. the first table shows up to like 3000rpms and the second table shows the rest)
Idk what the maf tables are called as I have the speeddensity version of TC for my car but hopefully that helps a bit

i replied to this over on tech...I would even suggest looking to a few basic tuning books.

I've read plenty of theory. Thanks though, someone who wants to help will respond.

what do you need to know? start with datamaster and datalogging some driving. my advice is to get a wideband, and a passenger to write down MAP A/F and RPM so you can start tuning it. WOT is a little different, pretty much have to use a dyno unless you're doing 6th gear pulls :jest:

Thanks Wicked. I figured it out.
I was having trouble knowing how to correlate the map (or AFGS in datamaster) reading to the respective maf table for that amount of flow.
Figured that out.
What do you mean by you have to have a dyno unless you're doing 6th gear pulls?
I already have an innovate LC-1 wideband. Can't I just make 4th gear wot pulls to redline like I would on the dyno to tune the PE AFR?
Thanks

yea but it's going to be tough seeing the rpm, and a/f values I would think??? unless you log your wideband into datamaster, look for a thread i started about that. would make it real easy to tune as well.

I actually dug up that thread you posted on here last night!
I'll probably do it that way. I was planning on having someone else help with the datalogging and I was gonna watch the W/B on WOT pulls.
It will be dyno tuned though. I think I'm gonna mess with getting my BLM's zeroed out and then let me tuner finish the street tune and dyno tune it both on motor and for the 175 shot
