Ok this is the problem I am having. sometimes the car will start and run great. sometimes it will turn over but won't start. I will turn completely over but not fire up. opti? or fuel problem? I am gonna change the fuel filter and see if that helps. also sometimes it will stall at low rpm's or idleing. it doesn't stall if your in the gas. doesn't do it all the time just some times??? I am thinking its a fuel issue. any ideas?

Sounds like it could be fuel... Put a gauge on it and let us know what kinda fuel pressure it's getting.

I don't have one..I will have to get one sometime next weekend. Do you think changing the fuel filter would help?

most likely. I just got the car and it has 179k on it. :face_shocked: now if only I could keep it running I would start my mods.

Do you have an aftermarket ignition box? I had this problem when my Digital 6+ was on it's way out.

I don't believe it does. I think all the ignition is stock. the only thing changed was that the vats resistor was replaced in the key. I found the receipt. I will check for the ignition box tomorrow when I get home. I got to go to the hospitial till late.

if its not the above stated issues, it could be a vaccum problem or something with the timing

Id check fuel first like stated above. I dont think it would be a timing issue since the timing is controlled by the pcm, but i may be wrong.

Sounds a lot like what my car did.. Turns out the fuel feed line came loose, pumping the fuel back into the tank instead of the motor :D

Mine did this also somewhat, except my feedline hose had a hole in it for some reason. Made for some real brutal starts.

Code 16 is for Optispark Low-Resolution signal failure
Code 36 is for Optispark High-Resolution signal failure
(If I remember correctly)
