It was time to replace my chattery clutch today, that had never stopped chattering since I installed it. We never had resurfaced the flywheel the first time around, and that was my mistake. I will now get the flywheel resurfaced or just buy a new one if needed. I bought a new clutch disc to install and I figured the disc was worn down, but now I have noticed my pressure plate has a lot of hotspots in it, although it still feels smooth aside for a couple nicks in it.. The flywheel doesn't look too pretty either.

My questions are:

Will this pressure plate still work or would it need to be replaced? I have read you should not resurface a pressure plate.

Where do yall see the main cause of an oil leak. I just recently switched to synthetic and it has been leaking ever since, but I plan to go back to the conventional oil next oil change. But where exactly does it look like my oil is leaking from?

Looks like the rear of the intake bigtime, take a better pic of that.... Looks like the classic rear intake leaking down the back of the engine/bellhousing.

EDIT : Not sure on that pressure plate, I wouldent.

This ^ is true, but that is seriously what it looks to be.

Look how high up that oil looks to be coming from...

Is this pressure plate going to be usable at all?

Well i took my pressure plate and flywheel to get it looked at and the flywheel resurfaced today. We found the pressure plate was dished, it was a little lower towards the inner ring of the pressure plate. and the flywheel was horrible. We discussed cutting a tiny layer off the pressure plate and adjusting some of the straps. We determined one of the straps on the pressure plate was too high causing a high spot in the pressure plate on the top side where all the dark blotches are.

For $75 i got my flywheel and pressure plate resurfaced. I was nervous about getting the plate cut because of what i've read about it, but i was impressed. He said they only cut .007" off the top of the plate, but everything looks great. I installed it today and it feels good, I will just wait and see when it breaks in.
