From what I have seen, 28 is a bit of a squeeze on a factory height rear. I didn't want to take any chances, so I'm running a 26x10.5x16.

i want 30" cause i want my car to have the raked stance. i figured a mini tub would be required then i can run a wide ass tire. plus i think the profile height of my tires are too small and look funny. so with a mini tub, do i have to chop my rearend down any?

PM fastfatboy he is mini tubbed
you can get the same rake with 28" tires and it kinda hurts MPH on the other end though

I'm also mini tubbed. It doesnt require you to narrow the stock rearend. just opens up the wheels wells for a bigger tire. Narrowing the rear will just allow you to use better offsets and get the deep dish look most like

I run a 295/65 on my car with factory tubs. The fenders had to be clearanced. The back of the car is also lowered to sit down over the tires.
