Sorry for the long windedness and noobness of this post, but here goes:

last night I hit a huge pothole and knocked my air filter clean off. I have a K&N unit, for reference. I also have little to no working ability on the car, but I do have a friend with tools etc. Despite this, I tried to get the filter back on with no luck. I wake up this morning to go deal with it to find several inches of snow on the ground. After clearing it off, I go to try and start my car and its sounding like it wants to turn over but stops abruptly and the dash lights flash at my several times with a clicking sound.

I think it may be a battery issue, but I'm not having problems getting the headlights or stereo to come on. So I'm wondering if it might have something to do with the filter that came off.

Any thoughts or help you guys can offer is appreciated.

Give the car a good visual get under it check it all out. Even if you begining to work on cars if you see a wire broke or something dented damaged etc its not hard to miss.

When you hit this pot hole was it under water? Did the motor suck in any?

I checked the interior of my intake and it seemed dry to me. Everything looks good, so I'm going to replace the battery and see if it'll start or not. I also might just put the stocker intake back on for now.

I'm still relatively new to F bodies, so I'm not sure how they act with a weak battery.

Thanks.

Try jumping it before buying a new battery? Check for loose connections/corrosion. Said you got snow proly get pretty cold

Is it still turning over or just clicking?

If it's not turning over at all, is your security light on?

Yeah, we got into the 20s last night with no sign of heating back up until tomorrow plus heinous wind. Unusual for Virgina to say the least.

It just clicks and the only light that stays on is the Service Engine Soon light.

I think I probably over-reacted with the filter coming off and the rain/snow/evil going on outside. From what everyone has said, I suspect the cold finally did it in.
