so the way im understanding form you guys on here is that the mallory 685 box has a 2 step, over rev control, as well as allows for 2 different timing settings that will switch when the box sees that you nitrous systtem is armed? so question is where should i buy it and what is the part number for it?

Mallary 685. I would say if any of our sponsors have it order from there.
Most places will price match if you find it cheaper but it "best" to support a sponsor.

I bought the Mallory 685 about 3 years ago used and have never had a problem with it. The two-step is nice and can be ran off a button. The timing retarder I just hooked up to the armed wire coming into the nitrous relay, so whenever that gets 12V it retards timing.

Summit also sells their model of ignition box which is the exact same thing and quite a bit cheaper too. Haven't heard a bad thing about their box either.

Doesn't the mallory 685 have a built in window switch aswell? I may be wrong, But I remember reading that somewhere.

I have the msd harness you'll need to use that box. Well, makes it way easier anyway. PM me if you want it

Definitely get the MSD harness. Makes hooking that thing up a breeze. If you need to know which wires go where, let me know I have the conversion chart somewhere.

Is the MSD harness the same thing that would be used for the 6A?
I just got my 685 and I have a harness that I was going to use with the 6A because I have the 96 opti.
