I just wanted to see how much time and a rounded dollar figure that every 1 has put in to their ride to make it do what it does right now. As my car sits 4,000.00 for the car with 92,000 miles, plus oil change 35.00 + 130.00 for cold air setup and elbow, oh yeah and gas.lol so i'd about 4,165.00+ gas.lol

7,000 to purchase, and about 1,500 to fix stuff that broke about 6 months after that, then probabaly another 1,500 in parts. So I'm probably sitting at 10k even right now

So... $12k :embarassed: Damn you for making this thread, now I'm depressed.:( $12k isnt bad for a decently built LT1 that should crack 650rwhp though. Probably have another $3k before it drives though. I could have a nice C5 for that :(.

Bought the car in 2003 for $6k. Put very little into it initially. Only about $1k or so between clutch, slp lm, and maintenance. Harvested a $1k stereo setup from my old black car along with a set of ASM headers from that same car. Currently am over $20k into the turbo build that's slowly happened since 2007.

I think i figured it out a few weeks ago cost wise. it was around $18k counting the $6k i bought the car for. It sounds like a lot but i'm including maintenance things like new tires, a new waterpump, new radiator, trans rebuild, as well as things like adding the ram air hood, adding new wheels, painting the sail panel and hood, etc. I have owned the car for almost 6 years.

Here's the breakdown from LS1tech.

Car cost $6000 in may 2004 (plus ~ $360 in taxes)
ZR1 wheels w/ first set of tires in jan 05 $1100
second set of tires in 08 $690
trans rebuild + rear main, oil sender unit, oil level sensor, rear end flush and pinion in fall 07 $3100
100k mile tune up back in spring 05 including all new brake rotors/pads $1000
cap/rotor in spring 06 $250 ($150 in parts and i gave a friend $100 to install it)
radiator 2 summers ago $800
waterpump last summer $550
WS6 hood, airbox, all the minor stuff like grills and AIR hose extension, maf extension and painting the hood and the roof panel behind the t-tops $1250
hay incident that destroyed bumper # 2 in june 08 $250 deductible (cost was really $970)
car wash wrecking the original bumper in april 06 $500 deductble (cost was ~ $1500 but i filed it under insurance)
having the original bumpers and gfx repainted in may 2005 $800.
intake gasket, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket summer 08 $200.
seat reupholstery in 2009 $800.

I'm right around $9,000 including the $3200 i paid for the car and that's just the big items i can remember(heads, intake, suspension, Borla, Rims/Tires, Trans....and i have not even began to build my FI motor yet. i expecting to hit the mid to high 20k range by the time I'm done.

Edit: i should say that most of the parts stated above are NOT on the car yet...
