I replaced it with a used one I got from a board member.
It has cranking rpm
High res. signal is active when cranking
Low res signal is about 111-116 m sec when cranking
Res crank angle is 60* , cant remember if it was high or low and doesnt change
I have spark/fuel
Power/Ground to Opti is good
I rechecked all my wires and they were all in the right spot
Grounds are good at the stud by the coil
Also it will spit and sputter and try to run on after I let the key go from cranking.
Am I missing something?? Is there some resistance checks I can do to the Opti? :frustrated:

Make sure your plug wires are plugged all the way in and routed to the correct cylinders, don forget about the coil wire!

*EDIT* just saw you already double checked

Have you tried this: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#opti_test

I didn't check the links ^^, but I thought I had opti problems at one point and it was the harness that goes from the opti to the right side of the intake.

If Im right, the harness is sealed up at the Opti so it cant be taken off.

The harness plugs into the optispark. There's no sealing or any permanent wiring.

This is a Dynaspark Opti.

I'm pretty sure the dyna spark is made as a 1 piece unit, all the others have this.

It's pretty common for the terminals to get corroded and cause issues.

Tore it back down tonight and the dowl pin was in the right area but I think it moved a bit and went into the camshaft bolt void. I know the rotor was turning because I had spark at #1 plug. I put it back on and it fired right up. Then I put the water pump and everything else on. thanks for the help !!

Awesome! Im glad it worked out for you. I got nervous when I seen this thread title (I sold you the opti). That opti should treat you well, it has been very well maintained.
