Well I started wondering if some of the changes I'm making will help or not hp wise. Ok here's my current setup 355,stock rods, stock crank,kb hyper pistons,11.3:1 comp,cc306,1.7I(578)/1.6E(576 lift) scorpion rockers, afr 180cc street heads untouched (260 cfm .500),edelbrock 58mm tb,edelbrock air-gap,pacesetter lt's,custom 3" x-pipe,flowmaster outlaw race mufflers,30lb fms injectors, gms maf ends, walboro 255 fp and a k&n filter. The tune is from pcmforless but it's setup for 10.5:1 comp,1.6i/1.6e rockers and ported stock heads that only flowed 248 at .500. The ports on the intake were an 1/8th of an inch higher then the ports on the heads and i'm having that taken care of right now. The intake will get ported along with the heads I told the guy that does my work to shoot for 280cfm at .500. I'm putting a monoblade tb on and I'll be getting a dyno tune from Ed wright in the summer. I'm looking to pick up around 4-5 mph as I want to run 11.5's. My question is do you guys think that's possible with the mods I listed?

I'm also changing stalls I'm going from a 4200 to a 3800 both are non lock up. And I'm trying to get 100lbs out of it. And I'm shooting for 390 rwhp.

wish I could help you out dude, but I'm sure having your afrs ported out to around 280cfm and the pcm being retuned to what you've actually got under the hood is going to def help you reach your goal... where did you pick up your mono blade tb setup? and is it said to be better than the 58mm??

The monoblade is an arizona speed and marine. Not very many people make a monoblade anymore so I bought it before they quit makin them anymore as it'll take me a couple more years to build a 383 or fi setup. For the most part a 58mm will do for just about everybody.

seems like a nice setup motor wise, but I think you stall is a bit large, and its non lock up clutch, I would go with a 3600 with a lock up clutch

A lock up would be better for crusing not so much for racing as the lock-up plate inside the convertor is heavy. My 3500 tci with lock-up was 2lbs(which is alot of rotating mass) heavier then my 4200 non-lock up that has 2 anti-ballooning plates in it. And my 3500 just couldn't get me the 60's (best was a 1.65)I was after so I swiched to the 4200 and got the launching ability that I wanted (best 60' 1.567) but I think it's costing me on the big end as I'm seeing about 14% convertor loss. Which is why I'm going to a 3800 as I hope that'll give me the best of both.
